In Apex Legends, you will need attachments. Pick up a weapon and you will be able to fight your enemies, sure, but without attachments on it you will be outgunned in no time. Fortunately, Apex Legends makes it super simple to figure out which weapons you are carrying need what attachments and quickly equip them.
Attachments can be found scattered all around the world, either on the floor or in supply boxes and drop pods, same as all the other gear. If you aim at an attachment, a pop-up will appear that shows whether you are carrying a weapon it can attach to. Then you simply pick it up and your character will automatically install it on the gun in question.
If you swap your weapon for a new one, the pop-up will show which attachments come with it, saving you from having to figure out what each one takes. Attachments can improve every aspect of your guns and come in different tiers, from Common to Legendary, which tells you how good each one is.
Weapon Stocks
Stocks reduce the draw time of your weapons – how long it takes to pull them up after switching to them. They also reduce the amount of drift while aiming, so that your aim will stay on target while you are moving. They come in Common (white), Rare (blue), Epic (purple) and Legendary (gold) varieties. The rare ones are always better, so don’t hesitate to swap the lesser ones out when you find one.
Magazines
Magazines are simple – they just give you more shots before you have to reload. They come in Common (white), Rare (blue), Epic (purple) and Legendary (gold) varieties, with each rarer one allowing a magazine to hold more rounds. At Rare (blue) levels and above, the light and heavy magazines also reduce reload time.
Hop-Ups
Hop-Ups are rare attachments that only fit to specific weapons and can change their stats pretty significantly.
Precision Choke
Allows you to hold down the fire button to charge up a tighter spread. Weapons – Peacekeeper, Triple Take.
Selectfire Receiver
Enables full-auto firing mode. Weapons – Prowler, Havoc Purple.
Skullpiercer Rifling
Increases headshot damage. Weapons – Longbow, Wingman.
Turbocharger
Reduces spin-up time for energy weapons. Weapons – Devotion, Havoc.
